We present you a portrait of Simone Menezes, a talented young Brazilian conductor widely recognized for her artistic leadership, creativity and innovation. She founded and leads the Camerata Latino Americana, a chamber orchestra that has attracted the attention of the International Society for the Performing Arts in New York due to the innovative and creative quality of its output. She also created and works as adviser to and conductor of the “Villa-Lobos Project”, an international project dedicated to the performance of Villa Lobos around the world. The project is supported by Funarte - the Brazilian Arts Foundation. She has recorded 3 CDs and premiered over 20 works. Simone Menezes collaborates with Paavo Jarvi, Marin Alsop, Ole Antonsen, Thomas Adès, among others. Recently engagements include orchestras such as Rotterdams Philharmonic Orchestra (Holland), Orchestre National de Lille (France), Orquestra Sinfônica Nacional (Rio de Janeiro - Brazil), between others.
