"Dans les Jardins de William Christie" is a festival centered on the musical ensemble "Les Arts Florissants", dedicated to baroque music, directed by William Christie. Created five years ago, the festival affirms openness towards young artists (each year, 8 selected students of the Juilliard School join the musical ensemble and thus inject to the event youth and vibrance). The major characteristic of the festival is the principle of the musical wanderings : the audience moves from one place of the garden to another, from one concert to another. William Chrsitie's aspiration was to gather sensory experience with an intellectual delight. The remarkable artistic feat is the garden of William Christie, which becomes the gorgeous forum to bring together music and theater and music and literature : the intertwining of both arts was on the one hand epitomized by the representation of "Monsieur de Pourceaugnac", a Comedy-Ballet by Molière and Lully. On the other hand, the artistic pair rich in emotions of music and literature was illustrated by a conversation between Erik Orsenna, a famous writer of the French Academy, along with a curator of cultural heritage. Storytellers and actors broaden even more the festival, in an enchanting place. A festival filled with poetry, promoting closer links between arts.
